What if my Young Leaders want to do the activities?
If Young Leaders want to do activities they need to book as Explorers
When is the latest date we can add bookings?
The last date is two weeks before camp for booking to be added
Will help be needed during the day?
Yes! We will need helpers from Districts for activities.
What if someone is dropping off food?
People dropping off food are not to enter activity area
Can we have fires?
No fire pits
Can dogs or pets be brought on site?
No dogs on site unless guide/assistance dogs
Will we be able to print off the completed medical forms?
Yes these can be downloaded by group leads
Can clothing be personalised?
Yes via one stop scouting
Will we need to complete NAN forms?
NAN forms must be completed
What if we’re having food deliveries to the site?
Please let us know about food deliveries
Will there be somewhere for young people to buy snacks, and somewhere else for leaders to get a drink?
Cricket club will run a bar for Leaders (subject to yp ratios). Tuck shops/shop will be available so pocket money required
Will we have to wear wristbands, or other identifiable clothing / accessories?
Wristbands must be collected from admin and worn at all times by everyone. Anyone leaving site will need to keep their wristband on to gain entry again
Where can leaders find more information?
A handbook will be provided to all registered Leaders with all timings, directions etc. You can download it here.
What if our group or district are arriving by coach?
We will be asking which Groups/Districts will be arriving by coach
Where can we find medical forms?
Medical forms will go live on the system soon and will include activities and photo permission, parents have to complete this. This will be sent out via the system
What are the arrival times for day visitors?
Day visitors to arrive for start of activities and can stay until end of evening activities.
Will there be on site catering?
English Tea House will be on site, and their availability to cater will be confirmed shortly.
When can we arrive on site?
Leaders can set up sites Thursday night 5 pm to 10 pm (limited access to toilets). Set up on Friday from 10 am, cars can be on the camping field Friday until 4 pm
How will our areas be allocated?
Districts will be allocated area for Groups whether they are camping or to use as day visitors for catering
What activities are available to sections?
There will be activities available for ALL Sections. Districts and Groups will be allocated tickets for the circus show. We’ll aim to ensure day visitors attend the same performance as their District or Group, although this can’t be guaranteed. Districts will also be asked to provide adults to support activities, with this shared fairly on a rota basis.
How does the event booking system work?
The Event booking site – Evboo is now live and you can link to your OSM event for the camp. This will enable the details of those attending to be automatically synchronised with the Evbook booking system. All medical information and permissions will be collected via the Evboo booking system and further guidance will be issued when this is required.
How does day/partial attendance work?
The Camp Team can facilitate splitting Sections so that Groups can bring one Section for one or two nights and swapping them for another Section, ie tents on site for the three nights but shared by different Sections who don’t want to camp all three nights. They would then be able to overlap during the day to enjoy the activities. See booking details.
Will there be live music?
Yes, each evening. This will be aimed at all ages.
Will we know when activities are closed?
Yes, some activities will be noticeably closed, ie inflatables, but there will be notifications given. Once activities are closed everyone is expected to return to the camping area.
Do the young people go to the activities in small groups with an adult?
It is envisaged that older Scouts will wander round in groups without adults, but younger sections might need support of an adult, this is for individual section leaders to decide and manage. The site will be closed off so no-one can wander off.
